Michael Jackson Died of a Heart Attack

The "King of Pop" Michael Jackson has died of a heart attack on Thursday. He was 50. Jackson was announced dead after arriving at Los Angeles at about 12.30pm local time (7.30am NZST). The cause of his death was not known and an autopsy would likely take place on Friday. The singer had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months. Maybe his heart attack had something to do with his tiredness.

The singer's death began to spread soon. Thousands upon thousands of fans and reporters gathered outside the Los Angeles hospital to say Michael the last time.

Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Indiana, the seventh of nine children. He and his five brothers performed in a talent show and got the first prize. Then they became the most popular band – the Jackson 5. At that time, Michael was only 6. Jackson reached his peak in the 1980s, when he released album Thriller.
