Henry Dunay Designs Inc. Files an Petition for Bankruptcy

Henry Dunay, a jewelry company based in New York, filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition in U.S. bankruptcy court - Manhattan. Henry Dunay, the designer who launched the company in 1965, signed the paper. The company estimated its assets between $1 million and $10 million and its liabilities in the same range.

The company did not specify why it filed for bankruptcy. Several jewelry companies have bankrupted over the last year because of the economic depression.

The company's Website said, Dunay launched his company in 1965 and has won more than 50 awards in his five decades in the jewelry industry. Robb Report magazine named Dunay "World's Best Jewelry Designer" in 2000 and 2001. Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elizabeth Taylor, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Reagan, Oprah Winfrey and others are their patrons.
